After hours of testing I have discovered that the reason for my extremely slow (unworkably slow) network read speeds on my G74 is actually the built in wireless network card.
I tried a USB wireless dongle and my network read speeds increased by a factor of 12.
I have attatched speed test results for both adapters.
Any ideas how to fix this (other than carrying around a USB dongle with me). or .. even better.. getting ASUS to replace the inbuilt one.
This is a brand new laptop.
N.B. I have uninstalled the original network card several times and updated the driver to latest version.
