Usually, administrators will lock the corporate edition of Trend Micro Office Scan client program by assigning an uninstallation password, which must be entered correctly when computer user attempt to uninstall Trend Micro OfficeScan client from the PC.
So how to uninstall or remove Trend Micro Office Scan when the password to uninstall is unknown or lost? Here’s a simple hack to remove or reset the uninstallation password for TrendMicro OfficeScan, after which user can uninstall Trend Micro Office Scan by using the default password.
If the actual uninstall password is missing, the administrator can set a new one and apply this to all Client/Server Security Agents. Click Preferences Global Settings Desktop/Server. If you already installed the Trend Micro Toolbar or Trend Micro Anti-Spam Toolbar, remove them via the CSA main console Tools tab. Otherwise, go to Step 2. Now find the following registry key: HKEYLOCALMACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Uninstall Delete the OfficeScanNT key. Delete the OfficeScan program group (Trend Micro OfficeScan Client) from the Windows Start menu. Restart your computer.
- Search for Ofcscan.ini file. Normally the file is located in C:Windows folder for Windows 95 and Windows 98, or C:WINNT directory for Windows NT and Windows 2000. In newer operating system, the Ofcscan.ini can be saved in C:Program Files folder.
- Open the Ofcscan.ini file using Notepad for editing.
- Search for the [INI_CLIENT_SECTION] section heading.
- Locate the line starting with Uninstall_Pwd=. Comment the line (make it inactive by typing a # at the beginning of the line, i.e. #Uninstall_Pwd=….
- Insert a new line beneath the existing line as following:
Uninstall_Pwd=70
- Save the Ofcscan.ini file.
- Try to uninstall Trend Microsoft OfficeScan again. When prompted to enter a password to continue to uninstall, enter 1 as the password.
Alternatively, if above hack does not work, user can always manually uninstall Trend Micro OfficeScan client, bypassing and skipping all password requirement.

NoteKeep in mind that if you have a subscription with the antivirus company, uninstalling the program may not cancel your subscription.
TipIf you are uninstalling the antivirus because you believe it is causing problems, you can also temporarily disable the antivirus before uninstalling.
Uninstall through the Start menu
The first way is to utilize the built-in uninstall feature of the program by finding the folder for the antivirus program in your Windows Start menu. To do this, click Start, All Programs, and look for the antivirus program in the list of programs.
When you find the antivirus program in the list, locate the uninstall option, which should be in the same folder. If this is available, click the uninstall option and follow the prompts to complete the uninstallation of the antivirus.
Uninstall through Add or Remove programs
The second way is to utilize Add or Remove Programs.
Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10 users
1. Open the Add or Remove Programs.
2. In the list of installed programs, find the antivirus program and select it by clicking it once with the left mouse button. Once the antivirus program is selected, above the column headers, click the Uninstall option as shown in the picture below to initiate the uninstall process.
Some antivirus programs may be listed several times in the list of programs. Make sure you've uninstalled all associated parts of the antivirus before rebooting the computer or installing another antivirus.
If you're unable to uninstall the antivirus through Add or Remove Programs because of an error, skip to uninstalling from Safe Mode. If the antivirus program is not listed in the Add or Remove Programs, you may have a bad antivirus install or a rogue antivirus.
Windows XP users
1. Open the Add or Remove Programs.
2. In the list of installed programs, find the antivirus program and select it by clicking it once with the left mouse button. To the right of the program name, click the Change/Remove or Uninstall button to initiate the uninstall process.

Rogue antivirus programs
There is also the possibility that the antivirus program attempting to be uninstalled is actually a spyware or malware.
