Tecmo Koei unveiled some new details regarding Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires' edit mode and custom scenario features for the latest entry in the long running series.

The game is set to launch on February 24 here in the States on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. The Edit mode will allow players to create and customize their own characters for use in the Empire mode. Editing will be similar to how it operated in Dynasty Warriors 7, but in addition to character customization, will also allow you to 'edit allied soldiers, warhorses, banners and more, forming a unique player created unit.' Your Dynasty Warriors Posse, if you will.

Players are encouraged to use the Edit Mode to customization their own maps and ultimately create their own Three Kingdoms scenarios. Will you follow the path that history has laid out for the many characters involved in the centuries spanning saga, or will you break free of destiny and rewrite it?

'Custom Scenario mode adds the ability to control what will happen across the vast Chinese landscape. In addition to setting the locations and rulers of each kingdom, officers can be changed within those kingdoms. Players can also create their own title and introduction for the scenario, adjusting every last detail to form a brand new Three Kingdoms world.'

Dynasty Edit Mode enables you to create your own original characters and use them in Empire Mode.
In addition to numerous upgrades made to the existing Edit Mode functions, you can now edit allied soldiers, warhorses, banners and more, allowing you to form your own unique unit.
The mode also allows you to edit the maps used in the scenarios, giving you the freedom to make entirely new scenarios of your own design.
It is up to you whether to take your finely detailed unit and try to make a name for yourself in the Three Kingdoms, or if you simply want to live your life freely as you attempt to rewrite history.
All of these features combine to help Edit Mode deliver your own personalized Three Kingdoms experience.

From faces to body types, custom officers can be edited in fine detail with the adjustable sliders.

Importing Custom Officers
When you first start up the game, you will be given the option to import your custom officer data from DYNASTY WARRIORS 7 Empires, so that you can continue using all of your favorite characters from the last game.

Adjust the appearance of the soldiers that will serve in your unit.
Customizable items include their equipment, colors, and emblems, allowing you to give them their own special features. You can also finely adjust their body types with the use of a slider.

Create custom warhorses that your officers can ride into battle.
Using various horses such as Chestnut, Hex Mark, Shadow Runner or Red Hare as a base, you can adjust the color of their mane or their body type. Additionally, you are also able to set their running speed or the special abilities they can use when you are riding them.

Combine various parts such as the shape of the frame, pattern, color, and markings of your banner, allowing you to create the ideal banner for your forces.
The banner you make will be flown within your base during battle, as well as in the background during the Strategy Phase.
